Wake-up Call for If I Stay!

Prepare to cry your eyes out.

The wonderful novel If I Stay, by Gayle Forman, tells the tale of seventeen year old Mia Hall. We follow her story as she deals with the aftermath of a car wreck, involving her family. In a coma and hanging from a thin thread between life and death, Mia has an out-of-body experience, watching as family and friends come to where she is being treated. At the same time, she is having memory flashbacks and must decide if she wants to stay and live a life harder than she ever anticipated, or simply let go.

This is a wake-up call for the #7th book in the 10 Books of Summer event we have going on at YWS. I highly encourage you all to read this book, and please join me for a discussion on Saturday. You will not regret it.

This book is single-handedly the most powerful novel I have ever read. It makes you realize just what you have in life, and what you should never take for granted.

There is also a beautiful sequel, entitled Where She Went. It is the after events of the first novel, and is told from Adam’s point of view.
